Aaron Siskind Foundation
Open to photographers using still-photography based media. Eligible to US
citizens not currently enrolled in a degree granting program. Several grants of
up to $5000 awarded annually to photographers based upon past accomplishments
and the promise of future achievement. Funds must be used to support the
artist's creative endeavors.

Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation
Two grants for painters, printmakers and sculptors: 1) Individual support
grant-20 yrs mature phase of art. 2) Emergency assistance grant-10 yrs mature,

Agape Foundation
Agape Foundation founded in 1969 is a nonprofit tax-exempt foundation that
raises and distributes funds to groups and projects (not individuals) working
for nonviolent social change in California. Agape provides seed grants, loans
and fiscal sponsorship to organizations addressing the following six areas:
Peace, Human Rights, Environmental Protection, Economic Justice, Progressive
Arts, Media and Grassroots Organizing Support.

Provides a listing of both public and private organizations that give grants and
other forms of support to artists.

Americans for the Arts Emergency Relief Fund
Supports local arts agencies affected by disasters. It was established to
provide timely financial assistance to victims of a major disaster for the
purpose of helping them rebuild the arts in their community. Relief funds are
distributed directly to local arts agencies and other cultural relief
efforts. Local arts agencies may use relief funds to assist with their own
recovery as well as to provide needed services and funding to local nonprofit
arts organizations and individual artists. Typical awards range from $1000 to
$5000.

Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts
Grants are made on a project basis to curatorial programs at museums, artists'
organizations and their cultural institutions to originate innovative and
scholarly presentations of contemporary visual arts. The program also supports
the creation of new work through regranting initiatives and artist-in-residence
programs.

Flintridge Foundation
Biennial Awards for Visual Artists honor West Coast fine arts and crafts artists
of high artistic merit and 20 years minimum in a mature phase of artmaking.
Unrestricted grants of $25,000 each. Flintridge also supports small to mid-size
ensemble theatre companies in California, Oregon, and Washington. Other program
areas: Community Services and Conservation.

Kala Art Institute Fellowships & James D. Phelan Art Award
Each year Kala awards Fellowships to eight artists from a variety of disciplines
such as traditional and digital printmaking, book arts, photography, film,
video, and installation art. The James D. Phelan Art Awards recognize the
achievements of California-born artists in a variety of disciplines and is part
of the Art Awards Program of The San Francisco Foundation. The Kala Art
Institute administers the printmaking competition and also sponsors an
exhibition of the award-winning artist in the Kala Gallery.

New York Foundation for the Arts: Artists' Fellowships
Artists' Fellowships are $7,000 cash awards made to individual originating
artists living and working in the state of New York for use in career
development. Grants are awarded in 16 artistic disciplines or practices. Since
the awards began in 1985, NYFA has awarded over $17 million to nearly 2,800
artists.

Pew Fellowships in the Arts
Open to artists 25 years and older at any stage of career development, from
emerging to mature, who have been residents of Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks,
Chester, or Delaware County for at least two years prior to application. Grants
are made directly to artists, and are designed to enable them to dedicate
themselves solely to creative pursuits for up to two years. Up to 12 fellowships
are awarded annually.

This organization, funded by foundations and private donors, supports a
fellowship program open to artists in all career stages. Fellowships will be
given across a broad array of disciplines, including architecture and design,
craft/traditional art, dance, literary (fiction, non-fiction, poetry), media

visual arts.

Zellerbach Family Fund
Non-profit community arts organizations from San Francisco, Contra Costa, and
Alameda counties, representing the fields of dance, theater, visual arts, music,

contemporary, cutting-edge new work.
